dream oath, Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico

This is a series I did for my Southern Graphics Council International (SGCI) Graduate Student Fellowship. I was awarded the fellowship in 2024 in Providence, RI. and exhibited the work in April 2025 at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico (EAPD) in San Juan.

In this series, I approach and treat subjects of the animal, the body, and semantics using repetition and mediums of printmaking. The images are the bowels of depression, slivers of light shining that transform suffering into a contained field. I am deep in the strangeness of matter, the unsaid, and the uncanny. I am curious to make sense of it, and am always surprised by the directness the line and marks contain. Ultimately I love and desire to be weird; to make images that provoke a curious thought of, “why?” and, more importantly, “how did that image appear?”
